how is it already april...
hello hello hello! time sure does fucking fly doesn't it :')) feels like it was only a couple days since i last blogged, and now it's an entirely new month. disgusting repulsive how could this happen etc etc.
the biggest thing to talk about right now is... i'm back from a trip!!!! i went with some friends to stay at another friend's parent's house while said parents were away, and god there must be a better way to write that sentence. we styled the trip as a kind of "writer's retreat" and i got to learn all about my friends' novels and stories and worlds and what have you. i did a lot of work on my own in-progress novel, which was grrrrreat! i've been doing essentially nothing but poetry for like a year now. maybe more than a year. and it's been so fun to diversify my writing efforts again.
i'm in a server with a bunch of my online friends where we share all about our creative projects with each other, and it's been so heartening to see everyone being so excited that i am returning to my novel! i don't want to talk about it here, mostly because i want to exercise restraint right off the bat and would rather give you guys less information than more of it, but i will tell you that it is informally called "swards" and that i have a very extensive and eternally updating spotify playlist for it. hell, i'll chuck an 8tracks-style playlist down below just to give y'all a taster. dang i miss 8tracks. crafting limited playlists to perfectly mirror story beats and character development my beloved.
anyway. i'm excited to start my new job next week! i got an interview for another gig which is more literary and would probably be quite excellent for my career. this year in general will be really cool for my writing career, which also means that i've been terrified of this entire year for the past oh god over three months now. i'm FORTUNATE and HONOURED and REALLY REALLY SCARED. i am going to be so freakin busy. writing's been on the brain a lot recently, which is always a bit of a double-edged sword because i get into my brain super easily and it makes living as a person in the world kinda hard sometimes. case in point, i watched Parasite for the first time a couple days ago, loved it, and then didn't sleep at all the night after because i was thinking about it so much.
